10 Aug Microsoft Project Tips and Tricks Series – #2 Estimating Tasks and Defining the Task Flow
Determining the estimates for our tasks and their dependencies on each other are critical steps in building our Microsoft Project schedule. We want the schedule information to be as accurate as possible to enable us to understand when we can finish each task and, more importantly, when we can finish the project!
This session will talk about best practices for determining task estimates and how Microsoft Project supports incorporating those estimates. Microsoft Project allows several approaches to setting task estimates using different Task Types. We will discuss how and when to use each approach with lots of examples and comparisons. Additionally, we will cover linking tasks in Microsoft Project to simulate the flow of the work in your project. You will leave this session with a much stronger understanding of the best way to estimate and link YOUR projects!
